Ketones for Surgery?

If you've followed my journey with Crohn's disease, cycling, and/or running, you know that I've experimented with ketone products (and my own formulations!) for ten years, as it was one of the keys to finally getting my inflammation under control.

I've also been drinking for the last couple of weeks to prepare for abdominal surgery and through recovery. So far, keeping my ketones elevated has helped a lot with post-surgery energy level and ZERO anesthesia hangover.

There's been an explosion of products and resources in the last 2-3 years— the sparkling ketone drink from Kenetik and their concentrate is one of my new favorites as it provides the best of both worlds between ketone esters and salts.

1) Reasonable pricing & taste (if you haven't ever had ketones, don't expect this to taste like juice or soda).
2) Higher perfomance (as measured by my blood ketone levels) than powdered BHB products & easier on the stomach than esters.
3) Still provides minerals (read: electrolytes) which is a benefit from the powdered BHB.
4) Sweetened with allulose, which actually has metabolic benefits and is what we use at Switch Bakery for our keto donuts.
