Some Unfortunate News
posted about 1 year ago in UpdatesI don't typically run on Thursdays after the market — 2 p.m. represents the "end" of the work week for Switch Bakery, where we've been producing and selling since Monday — we usually go out for lunch and then catch up on other things from the week. This Thursday, I went out for a tempo run (strike 2) and was met with one of the most difficult runs I've had in years. There was a chaos in my mind and body that took 7 miles, or so, to work out. Shortly after, I was. done and called for a ride to come get me just a mile from my house.
About 30-minutes after I got home, my sister called with news that my stepdad had passed away and the paramedics just left after trying to revive him. She was in shock. I was also in shock. Dennis had been a part of nearly my whole life, introduced me to Japanese cinema and Akira Kurosawa, amongst other things. My run suddenly held a different sort of energy.
We are all connected and occasionally, tuned in.
